Indian tech firms Infosys and TCS have made it to the top 12 Indian companies that featured in the list of Forbes’ world’s best companies list. Infosys has secured the 31st rank while TCS is at 35th position in the Forbes list.
Walt Disney, the entertainment giant has topped the list with $165 billion market cap. Disney is followed by the hospitality chain Hilton (2nd rank) and carmaker Ferrari (3rd rank). Out of 250 firms that have made it to the Forbes list, 12 are Indian companies while 61 companies are American. The electronic payments pioneer PayPal holds the 5th position, Netflix is at 6th, Siemens at 7th while e-commerce giant Amazon holds 8th rank.
Another hospitality chain, Marriott International is at 9th and Mastercard at 10th position in the list. US dominates the list with 61 companies, followed by Japan with 32 companies on the list. Nintendo, the Japanese video maker holds the 11th position followed by Toyota which is at 12th. Forbes list has 19 Chinese companies as well. France has 13 companies that are part of the list while Germany has 11.
Other Indian firms that made it the list include Tata Motors at 70th, Tata Steel at 131st, Larsen & Turbo at 135th, Grasim Industries at 154th, General Insurance Corporation of India at 156th, Mahindra & Mahindra at 164th, Asian Paints at 203rd, Steel Authority of India Limited at 227th, and ITC at 239th position.
Forbes worked with Statista to compile the list of World’s Best Companies. Both the firms surveyed over 15,000 people from 60 countries. The respondents were asked various questions to collect the relevant data points. Companies are evaluated on basis of their trustworthiness, social conduct, performance of product or service, and the work culture.
